About Spamatak
Spamatak™ is a very easy to use, accurate and intelligent spam filter for Microsoft® Outlook®. It is designed to automatically learn and adapt to your personal preferences for dealing with unwanted email. With Spamatak the same tricks spammers use on others won’t work on you! It is simple to use and accuracy rates of 99% or better have been achieved by all testers to date. The driving design principle behind Spamatak was to have a product that was self-adaptable and yet easy to use. This has been achieved through the use of an experiential algorithm which is able to replace all the common user configurable filters found in other anti-spam products today.


Technology
Spamatak uses self-adapting hierarchical network models of spam and non-spam emails to calculate Bayesian probabilities of a new email being spam or not. These models are based on sequences of characters rather than as a set of discrete words. This makes Spamatak very sensitive to word order and deliberate misspellings such as in ‘V1agra’. Sequences of random characters and random words will score poorly as non-spam even if they have never occurred in spam before. Use of a character-based filter also allows Spamatak to process Unicode and UTF-8 encoded emails where word-based systems totally fail. This allows filtering of emails written in Chinese or Japanese.
